Position: Executive Pastor/Business Manager
Status: Part-time

About This Role
The Executive Pastor position is a member of the Crossroads Leadership Team. The purpose of the position is to ensure the senior pastor’s leadership is maximised for the good of the organisation and that key plans stemming from our strategic plan are being faithfully executed. Primary responsibilities include strategic planning, team leadership, human resources coordination, financial coordination, Workplace Health & Safety and SAFE Ministries oversight and facilities management.
Primary Responsibilities and Tasks for the Executive Pastor/Business Manager
Strategic Planning and Leadership:
Crossroads has developed a ministry strategy. You will be thoroughly familiar with our plan and work closely with the senior pastor to ensure this vision for ministry is pursued and supported. This will involve:
Working with the current pastoral staff to ensure their ministry plans and developments are aligned with our overall strategic plan.
Working with the church council to ensure successful alignment of church vision, resourcing and governance.
Ensuring the operational processes are embedded and delivered by the Crossroads staff, using effective management and performance strategies, including annual performance appraisals.
Leading, managing and developing the office staff, department leaders and volunteers, to achieve a God focused, harmonious and productive operational Crossroads team.
Facilitating and supporting robust, open and transparent communication throughout the Crossroads team.
Human Resources:
Oversee compliance with federal, state, and Crossroads requirements and procedures. Responsible for staff onboarding and management of personal records.
Oversee HR management that aligns with the mission, vision and ministry goals of Crossroads, ensure Crossroads HR policies are contemporary and implemented by Crossroads leaders. Draw on advice and external input to establish best practices for people management.
Manage processes that support leaders in proactively responding to questions/complaints from staff members in a sensitive, timely way.
Ensure a smooth process through the employment lifecycle from recruitment, management and exiting for all employees.
Financial Coordinator:
Oversee and compile financial budgets and manage Crossroads departmental financial resources and ensure all financial requirements are met.
Ensure Crossroads departments have the financial resources and budget to effectively run their ministry through a coordinated Crossroads budget process.
Implement processes that ensure sound segregation of financial duties, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
Prepare and communicate financial expenditure information with the Crossroads Finance Team and implement outcomes
Ensure prompt payment of outgoings and incomings.
Work Health & Safety/SAFE Ministry Oversight:
Ensure the development, implementation, assessment and review of a comprehensive WH&S management and SAFE Ministry plan for Crossroads.
Ensure maintenance and continuous improvement of the WHS management and SAFE Ministry systems to ensure compliance with government regulations.
Assist in the design and implementation of all Crossroads Safety Policies and Procedures.
Assist department heads with the investigation of incidents and hazard management.
Ensure WHS Risk Management processes are conducted, recorded and acted upon.
Liaise with Insurer to ensure due diligence of WHS and SAFE Ministries Risk Management process.
Report progress of WHS issues and SAFE Ministry compliance to the Crossroads Council.
Oversee and manage Crossroads Staff WHS and SAFE Ministry training and currency requirements.
Contribute to the development of a culture that promotes the well-being of all staff through appropriate workplace practices.
Facilities Management:
Coordinate all church facility and property operations in support of Crossroads’s ministry and activities. Responsible for liaising with property owners and arranging on-going maintenance, emergency repairs, operation of lease church building/s and for oversight of all leases.
Manage contracts for facility maintenance including office cleaning, sanitation, pest control, waste management, and all other professional maintenance of church leased property.
Ensure all relevant WHS requirements are met by working with the broader team on policy and compliance.
Oversee the management and inventory of all church assets and property by ensuring the proper storage and record-keeping of all church property.
Ongoing development and review
You will seek to avail yourself of theological and practical training as is necessary (and available) to further develop your love and knowledge of God and effectiveness as a Christian leader and manager. Moreover, you will willingly involve yourself in regular review processes regarding your role and service at Crossroads.

Your Team
This position reports directly to the Senior Pastor.
This position relates to all other church staff, works closely with office staff, and supervises the Financial Assistant, the Communications team (2 staff), and the SAFE Ministry worker.

Requirements For The Position
The successful candidate will have:
1. A clear sense of calling to ministry at the Church.
2. Possess a current ACT WWVP card and have no prior allegations of misconduct or convictions.
3. Meets Crossroads Church code of conduct for a staff member.
4. Competent in using Google G-suite and other software products.
5. Ministry training would be advantageous.
