Returning to church FAQs
Crossroads is excited to be gathering again in person for our Sunday congregations from November. It’s been a long wait, but the time has come for us to rejoice and benefit from being together as God’s church. Because of ongoing restrictions due to COVID, our services will differ from what you may have been used to. Please familiarise yourself with the relevant information below and let’s serve and love together to make the most of the opportunity before us.
When and where are we going back?
Crossroads City - 1st November (6:30pm) - Manning Clark Hall, Kambri centre, ANU
Crossroads Belconnen - 15th November (9:30am) - Lake Ginninderra College, Emu Bank, Belconnen
Crossroads North - 15th November (9:30am) - Merici College, Wise Street, Braddon
(See below for specific information for each service)
Will I have to pre-register to come along to church each week?
Yes. Due to COVID regulations we need to keep a list of all those who are in attendance. Further, because seating is limited, we need to ensure we comply with venue capacity. This means you are not able to attend without being pre-registered.
How do I register?
A simple online booking system will be made available on the website each week. Simply follow the link and register your attendance. You will need a paper or digital version of this ticket to check-in on the day. If you forget your ticket there will be someone who can look up your name and check you in manually at the registration desk.
What’s the process for registering children?
Every person in attendance needs to be registered and you will be able to pre-register your children for their Kingdom Kids classes.
When will the tickets become available?
Tickets will be made available 1 week prior to the service.
This will mean you can book in for Crossroads North and Belconnen on Sundays from 10:30am and for Crossroads City from 7:30pm.
What do I need to do upon arrival?
Please have your ticket available for check-in, use the available hand sanitiser and find your seat. (Morning services, please note there will be separate check-in desks for adults and children participating in Kingdom Kids. Please see information specific to your congregation below.)
If tickets are limited, should I delay registering or default to Crossroads online so that others don’t miss out?
That’s kind of you, but no. Unless you are unwell we’d love for you to prioritize meeting in person. We will monitor demand over the coming weeks to ensure as many people can get to church as possible.
What do I do if tickets are sold-out (How does the Waiting list work)
If you were unable to register for a ticket this week, you will have the opportunity in the first half of the week ( Sun.–Wed.) to put yourself on the Waiting List. If tickets become available during the week we will email you from Thursday to Saturday to notify you that tickets have been released online.
What if I’m bringing a friend?
We’re so happy you are bringing along a friend. But you will need to help them pre-register online.
Will morning tea or supper be provided?
At this stage we won’t be offering refreshments.
How long will the service go for?
About 1 hour, so slightly shorter than usual.
What about music/singing?
Yes we will have musicians playing and people singing.
What about handouts/family news?
We’ll be avoiding paper handouts and would encourage you to download the Crossroads App to access the sermon outline. At the entrance to each venue will be a QR code to our Family News. It will also be on the overhead projector.
Will Crossroads online remain available?
Yes. Our plan is to continue providing an online service for the foreseeable future via the studio in the Crossroads office. This is so those who are unable to attend a physical gathering can still benefit from what the whole church family is learning together.
Do we have to wear masks?
This is not a current ACT health recommendation. However for those at City the ANU is strongly recommending the wearing of face masks.
If I have booked a ticket but cannot attend?
If you are unable to attend please contact the event organiser, the link is on your ticket, and request a ticket refund. Please provide your name and the names of those people for whom you have booked. Once your refund has been processed you will receive an email confirmation. By requesting a refund you will enable us to give your ticket to someone else.
Are there ways I can be helping my church at this time?
Yes indeed! There will be a range of needs specific to each congregation.

CrossroAds City
Where will I find the check in desk?
See video above.
Can we hang out after the service?
You can mingle inside the Manning Clark auditorium but once we leave the auditorium we can’t mingle in the foyer of the Kambri Centre. But we can mingle outside in the grassy areas around Union court both before and after the service.
Crossroads Belconnen
Where will I find the check in desks?
Both check-in desks are located on the Emu Bank side of the school.
Please note the separate check-in desks for those attending the service in the auditorium (mainly adults and youth) and for parents dropping children off for Kingdom Kids.
Will children be joining with the adults at the beginning of the service?
Because of restrictions, we are not able to have everyone in the auditorium at the same time. So please ensure your children are pre-registered for Kingdom Kids.
How do I register my children to be part of the Kingdom Kids program?
Children are pre-registered through trybooking when you book your own tickets. You will need to select the relevant ticket for the class/age group.
All children attending Kingdom Kids are still required to have a completed Registration form. If you have not completed one in 2020, you will receive information on how to do this before or on arrival.
If the Kingdom Kids tickets are filled up, you’re welcome to sign your child up for an adult ticket and have them join the service with you in the auditorium.
How will children get to their Kingdom Kids program?
The Check-In desk for the Kingdom Kids program is located at the sliding door entrance to Lake Ginninderra College. You will then need to escort your child/ren to their Kingdom Kids room.
Please drop your children off no more than 10 minutes before the service. Once the service is over, please collect them immediately.
Once you have dropped your child/ren off to their Kingdom Kids room, you will still need to check in yourself. There is an internal check in desk for your convenience.
Children are asked to bring their own water bottle, and a few other items. All details will be given to parents on registration.
What about Crossfire Youth on Sunday morning?
Crossfire Youth are invited to join the adults in the main service.
Can we spend time together after the service?
You are welcome to hang around in the courtyard outside, being mindful of room limits and cleaning in the theatre and cafeteria. Parents will need to pick up their children directly after the service is finished (you may like to ask the Kingdom Kids leaders if they need a hand with cleaning when you pick up your child). Please also consider options of inviting people into your home or making use of John Knight Memorial Park.
